Normally, people come to Toba Lake using bus or car. Trip form medan to parapat will spend around 4 to 5 hours. Even all the tiredness is noting compare to the view that offered by Toba Lake, it still a quite long trip. Now it’s not a matter anymore, by spend a little bit more money, around 200 – 500 thousands IDR, we can enjoy the view of toba lake in just 30 minutes trip. how?
Now, there is another transportation alternative that we can use to access toba area. Plane, transportation service provided by Susy Air, we can take a flight from polonia airpot in medan, to silangit airport in siborong-borong. The flight trip will take around 45 minutes. For some people who prefer to have a quick trip even have to spend little bit more money instead of using other public transportation that cheaper with tiredness and long boring trip as a “bonus”, this is the right choice.

since you ask for the cheapest way to trevel to lake toba maybe i can suggest this..
from medan, you can take the bus, usually it departs hourly from amplas bus terminal, it will cost you about 20K Rupiah.
with that bus you will be arrived in parapat or ajibata, from there, you can take the boat to go to tuktuk (samosir island) or stay in parapat.

to go around toba, i suggest u rent a car, but its relatively difficult to get a rent car. Probably, the easiest way is to ask the hotels for a car to rent, usually they have one or two.
